About James
As a math tutor, my top priority is to create a positive and comfortable learning environment for my students. I have extensive experience in taking challenging math courses as an engineering student and working with tutors, which has given me insight into the difficulties that students may face while learning math. My teaching philosophy centers around building a strong rapport with my students by tailoring my approach to their individual learning style and encouraging them to ask questions and provide feedback. I take great care in preparing structured lessons and use real-world examples to make concepts more relatable. As a math tutor for high schoolers and freshmen in college, my teaching approach is based on assessing the student's knowledge level and tailoring my methods to their learning style. I provide personalized teaching techniques and encourage students to ask questions and give feedback. A typical lesson plan would involve reviewing previous topics, introducing new concepts and problems, practicing with the student, and summarizing the lesson. I also provide real-world examples to make the concepts more relatable. What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to encourage a deeper understanding of the concepts and be patient and supportive throughout the learning process. In addition, I utilize virtual tools for communication and collaboration during online sessions.
