About Tor Dyrdal

Hi, I'm a 20 year old boy from Trondheim. I have good grades in mathematics from the secondary school and upper secondary school, and has taken some mathematics courses at NTNU. I'm used to learning mathematics on my own. Therefore, know a lot about which pitfalls you can fall into while studying and how to avoid them.
I have some experience with private lessons.

How the course will take place:
1. The student and I, arrive at what the goal of the teaching is.
2. Together, we map which areas we need to work with.
Here the student can also provide input on how he wants me to set up the teaching.
3. I separate these areas into their own topics and go through each topic individually.
4. When I see that the student has mastered a topic, we move on to the next topic.
5. At the start of each session, we will quickly test the previous topics so that they do not fade into oblivion.
6. When we've went through all the topics and the student is happy with their own level, I will make a test to measure whether the student has reached their goals.

Metod of progress:
I like to start with a short explanation of the topic. Then, I will explain one sub-topic(eg. how to take a percentage of a set amount). Then I will give the student tasks, specifically tasks on what I have just explained (eg. what is 15% of 1000). Eventually, I will be giving the student more difficult tasks and mix in topics we have been through earlier. (ex. Trousers A costs 15% more than trousers B. Trousers B costs 750,-. What does Trouser A cost?). If the student is stuck on a problem, I will help him through the task and try to identify what I have not explained well enough or what I have explained incorrectly. Finally, I will double-check that the student has understood the topic to a level that is satisfactory, then move on to the next topic.
