About Orrin
My name is Orrin Trull! I am passionate about teaching math well! During my high school years I took math all the way to AP Calculus BC (I passed the AP Calculus BC exam). Additionally, I completed physics my junior year, and advanced physics my senior year, both with A's. I didn't want to just be known for my STEM success, though, which is why I competed in over 20 speech competitions across the southeast United States. Currently, I am an honors engineering student at Louisiana Tech. My hours are flexible, and I can respond to any questions quickly.

Often, we view math as a practical subject where all that matters is getting the right answer. This is false. In the real world the right answer to problems won't be obvious, and we must rely on the validity of our methods. For this reason, I structure my teaching based on three main strategies. No matter the problem, the first thing to do is discover what is going on behind the scenes. In essence, a short recap of the topic at hand. Next, we will dive into the actual problem together, emphasizing an open-minded, multi-faceted, and reasoned way to provide the right answer. Finally, none of this would matter if these concepts are not applied and practiced. So, I will provide extra homework if it is ever needed. If you are a high schooler looking for help in algebra, trig, algebra 2, pre-cal, calculus, or physics I can provide meaningful help in solving problems or learning the material.
