About Trisha

Hi! I'm currently an engineering/computer science college student and I've been tutoring for about 3 years. I find that kids enjoy working with me mainly because

1) I've very recently been through the same education system that teaches them their math --> I'm familiar with the curriculum and can effectively help supplement what they learn in school
2) My age makes me easily accessible since my style of talking is somewhat familiar to them --> makes students more vocal when they don't understand a concept or need extra help.

About the lesson

Mainly teaching middle-schoolers with Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry --> extends to high schoolers needing tutoring with these topics + trigonometry, pre-calculus, and calculus 1

General teaching methods :
- specific to concepts that child needs help with
- assessing strengths and weaknesses with basic math concepts (especially COVID-impacted)
- focused on tips/tricks to make calculations faster + more efficient
- can tailor specific lesson plans upon request
- homework/practice problems given unless requested otherwise

a one-hour lesson with me will generally include:
- 10 mins reviewing and fixing HW questions done wrong
- 5-10 min review of concepts covered in last class
- 30-40 mins teaching new concept and/or concepts student struggles with in class
- 5 mins going over hw for the week/questionsMa
