About Mohammed
I gained invaluable experience at Hertfordshire University as an English language instructor. This experience allowed me to express myself creatively within my classroom. I used creative and traditional approaches to teach the English language such as concept checking questions, instruction checking questions and expressing speech. By making it a creative and fun process, it resulted in students learning the curriculum in an enjoyable environment. This method motivated the students to learn and develop their English inside and outside the class room.
My work at Global Academy included Behavioural management, teaching phoenix to EAL students and working with SEN students. During literacy classes while working on key stage 3 and 4, I used the curriculum to implement a creative and exciting way of learning. I planned a competition where students write a horror story relating to the reading. This motivated student to participate and work towards their full potential. This lesson plan gained the class appraisal during the school assembly.
Working at Twyford Academy William Perkin’s School I mainly focus on students with SEN, ADD, ADHD. My main responsibilities are to help students overcome their learning difficulty in all subjects and help with S.A.L.T (speech and language therapy). This work was challenging and difficult. However, once I built a good rapport with students it became simple to communicate with them. In therapy sessions I apply respective and expressive vocabulary thus developing cognitive abilities. these exercises help sequence their thoughts so they can express themselves in a clear and concise way.
The most challenging aspect of teaching was helping students with their GCSEs. I had to be acquainted with every subject before helping students with their course work or revision. I overcame these difficulties by familiarising myself with the GCSC's curriculum.
The knowledge I have gained from Creative and Professional Writing has benefited my journey in becoming a teacher. Most of the subjects I have taught or assisted in schools require certain aspects of Creative Writing such as essay writing, plays, speeches, poetry, writing pros and fiction. I discovered that the subject English involves all the elements of Creative Writing. Teaching literacy at globe and English language at Hertfordshire university also prepared me for this specific subject. I have also assisted students in workshops and homework clubs to further develop my skills as an English teacher.

Mohammed qualified as a teacher of English in 2018. His enthusiasm and ambition to succeed were a deciding factor in his employment. Cavendish School of English employed Mohammed at their summer centre based on the campus of the university of Hertfordshire, Hatfield where he taught international junior students aged 11 – 17. He completed his initial contract satisfactorily so was subsequently offered a second summer contract in 2019. He is very conscientious and methodical in his work ethos. He interacts well with colleagues, management and students. All necessary school and student administration was completed thoroughly and on time. The lessons were planned, well-staged and offered students with engaging and useful content.
