About Anne-Laure
I am UCSC (slug!) graduate with a BA in psychology and TESOL master's degree from SJSU. I have been teaching all subjects and then primarily English for the past 9 years! I love teaching my students one-on-one but I've also taught small groups in summer camp settings and 30 person classes in community college (SJCC).

Because I have taught all levels and ages in the past, I have become experienced with tailoring my lessons to each student. I assess my students the very first class to obtain basic information about their wants and needs. The magic happens when I go home and build a customized lesson plan with supportive texts and material that will ensure quick and lively language acquisition. I've taught a range of skills, such as speaking or listening, to one student and for other students, I've had to fabricate a series of lessons focused on business English. When tutoring, I'm happy to adapt to my student. On a personal level my approach is far from boring; I connect with my students using games, stories, and warm, inquisitive banter.
