About Rebecca
I’m a student at MMU, currently undertaking a degree in English and Film, have a 9 in English Literature at GCSE and A Level results were AAB in Media Studies, Film Studies and English Literature. Have no prior tutoring experience but know I have a passion for both English and helping people, which surely makes me a perfect tutor?

My teaching method includes as little lecturing as possible but I don’t find any value in picking on and embarrassing students, I would rather build up their confidence until they feel like they want to volunteer themselves. I believe grammar and spelling is just as important as being able to use your imagination when analysing literature and therefore imagination and creativity will merit the same awards as a good grasp on the technical aspects of English. Lessons will be divides into the different criteria or ‘AOs’ required in an exam answer, and will be concluded with how the AOs work together to ensure fluid and coherent work. It is my aim to make sure all my students have an in depth understanding of every topic I cover until I move onto the next.
