About Emma
I have a BA in English Literature from Smith College and a Master's Degree in Fiction from the University of California, Irvine. During my over a decade of experience, I've worked in a Writing Center tutoring college students one-on-one and earning a CRLA Advanced Tutor Certification, Level II, volunteered with LA-based nonprofit WriteGirl as a mentor to underprivileged high school girls both individually and in large workshop settings, served as an instructor at Writopia Los Angeles designing and leading both fiction and poetry workshops for classes of young writers, and spent years working as a freelance copyeditor, providing extensive feedback on a broad range of client manuscripts including fiction, newsletter, and personal memoir.
