About Tyler
Hi! I'm Tyler. I'm someone who has always been genuinely curious about just about everything, and I love sharing what I've learned with other people. I especially enjoy having conversations where we can look at an idea from different sides rather than just accepting the first answer we come across.
Outside of tutoring, a lot of my interests tend to revolve around that same curiosity. I love philosophy, reading, traveling, hiking, and, probably more than anything, tea. I'm the kind of person who can easily get carried away talking about a favorite book, a philosophical idea, or some random thing I learned while traveling.
As a tutor, I'm pretty relaxed and patient, but I also like having some structure. I want lessons to feel comfortable enough that you can ask questions, make mistakes, and actually talk through what you're thinking. At the same time, we'll have a clear idea of what we're trying to accomplish and make sure we're making progress.
I'm happy working with students in high school and beyond, and whether you already love the subject or are just trying to figure out how to get through the class, I'm always excited to help.

I believe the best tutoring happens when you can actually have a conversation with your tutor. Instead of simply giving you the answers, I like to work through problems together and figure out where things start to become difficult. My goal is to make challenging material feel less intimidating and help you become more confident in your own abilities.
Lessons are flexible depending on what you need. We might spend a session working through a difficult reading, preparing for an AP exam, brainstorming and improving an essay, or going over a concept that just isn't clicking. For writing assignments, I can help you develop your ideas, organize your argument, strengthen your analysis, and revise your work while making sure the final product is still your own.
I have a background in both English and Philosophy, so I especially enjoy helping students with writing, literature, philosophy, and critical thinking. I also have several years of experience coaching high school students, which has taught me that everyone learns a little differently.
I work with both high school and college students, including AP and college-level courses. Whether you're trying to raise a grade, prepare for an exam, tackle a difficult paper, or just become a stronger writer, I'm happy to meet you where you are and work from there.
