About Ammaar
I am a patient, supportive tutor with over 14 years of professional experience helping people develop confidence, think critically, and communicate clearly. My background in leadership advisory, executive coaching, and business means I am used to breaking down complex ideas into manageable steps and adapting my approach to each individual’s goals.
I believe it is important for students to grasp the basic principles of what they are learning, before getting to the answer. My lessons are structured but interactive. I try to explain concepts using practical examples, and probe the students understanding throughout.
I encourage to work through problems independently, and aim to create a calm, safe, and encouraging space for the student to ask questions and make mistakes. We learn by being wrong. But being wrong can kill confidence in the wrong environments.
I hold an Executive MBA with Distinction from Warwick Business School, a BA (Hons) in Law with Business, and a Diploma in Executive Coaching from Hult Ashridge. I am also completing PhD research in leadership, decision-making, and organisational adaptability.

Lessons are personalised for each student. I take a 'first principles' approach and prioritise helping the student become more confident in the fundamental subject matter.
As someone who has spent the majority of my life in academia, I appreciate we all learn in different ways, and at different paces.
At the start, I identify the student’s current level, goals, and any areas they find difficult. I then break topics into manageable steps, and explain ideas in ways that would resonate with them strongest. Ultimately, I want my students to have the confidence to solve questions independently.
A typical lesson lasts 60-120 minutes and includes a short recap of previous lesson, focused teaching of one key topic, practice questions with feedback, and a final review of what to work on next.
Where appropriate, I use schoolwork and exam-style questions so lessons directly support classroom learning and assessment preparation.
