About Daniel

Hello newcomers! My name is Daniel and I am a freelance English tutor, specialising in creative writing, essay writing, poetry, and text analysis. I am really excited to have a part in growing your english writing capability!

I am an award-winning writer for my creative writing and essay writing, so I know how to write an essay for its purpose. I frequently write essays, poems, creative pieces and more on my Substack, to a sizable and growing audience. I also have 3 younger sisters, who have had me as their unpaid English tutor since they were in primary school, so I have a great amount of knowledge when it comes to tutoring English, and a great deal of love for it too :)

As might be obvious, I have a huge, enduring love for writing, and have done since I was 3 years old reading stories to my classmates in my preschool's bookcorner. Since then, I have pursued the bettering of my writing skill through primary, through secondary, through college, and finally now on to university. It is my greatest passion, and I would love to help you embolden your passion for it too.

About the lesson

A personal and bespoke approach to growing your English ability in essay writing, creative writing and poetry. I tutor with a methodical approach - at the start of each lesson going through a text that you will have written, analysing it, and identifying parts that could be changed (either in the text itself or your process) that will better achieve the goal of the text. As tutoring is a far more personalised method of teaching, this will be a collaborative process - meaning we will work together, using both of our brains to create the best work possible, and to advance your skills individually to get you producing better and better work in your own time - either at school or at home.

After analysing, we will find the aspects of the text that you find the most difficulty with, and will go over how to do them better; this can be language techniques, structure techniques, methods of text analysis, or really anything that we identify in our lessons. I will give you some resources to further your understanding on your own, which we can then revisit in our next lesson!

The length of our lessons will typically be 1 hour, though this is adaptable upon request (you can contact me at the details below).
