About Gracie

Hi! My name is Gracie, and I am currently pursuing my degree in English Secondary Education. I am passionate about English and education, and I enjoy helping students become more confident in their reading, writing, grammar, and communication skills.

I have one year of experience as a teaching assistant in a middle school English classroom, where I worked with students and supported them with their classwork and learning. This experience has helped me develop patience, adaptability, and a better understanding of how to explain difficult concepts in ways that are easy to understand.

I believe that every student learns differently, so I take the time to understand each student's strengths, challenges, and goals. Whether you need help with an assignment, want to improve your writing, or simply want to feel more confident in English, I am here to provide a supportive and encouraging learning environment.

My goal is to make English feel less intimidating and more approachable while helping students develop skills they can use both inside and outside the classroom. I would love the opportunity to help you reach your academic goals!

About the lesson

My Teaching Method and Techniques

As a current English Secondary Education certification major, I believe that students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and expressing their ideas. My teaching approach is student-centered and focuses on building both confidence and academic skills. I adjust my lessons based on each student's learning style, goals, and current level.

I use a combination of guided practice, discussion, reading comprehension, writing exercises, grammar instruction, and examples that connect English concepts to real-life situations. My experience as a teaching assistant in a middle school English classroom has also taught me the importance of patience, encouragement, and adapting explanations when a student is struggling with a concept.

A Typical Lesson

A typical lesson begins with a quick review or warm-up to see what the student already understands. From there, we will introduce or review the main skill for the day. I will explain the concept using clear examples, then work through practice problems or activities with the student.

As the lesson progresses, I gradually give the student more independence so they can demonstrate what they have learned. We will finish with a brief review of the material, address any remaining questions, and identify what the student should continue practicing.

What Sets Me Apart

As an English Secondary Education major with classroom experience, I bring both subject knowledge and firsthand experience working with students. I understand that every student learns differently, so I do not believe in using the exact same approach for everyone. My goal is not simply to help students complete an assignment, but to help them understand the material well enough to become more confident and independent learners.

Who My Lessons Are For

My lessons are designed for students from elementary school through high school who want additional support with English. I can work with students who need help with reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, essay writing, literary analysis, or general English coursework.

Whether a student needs help understanding a specific assignment, preparing for an exam, strengthening foundational skills, or becoming a more confident English student, I will tailor our lessons to their individual needs and goals.
