About Anastasia
My name is Anastasia Brown and I am an English & film graduate, as well as freelance writer-editor who has much experience in the humanities teaching world.
Coming from the home of two arts teachers (my parents), I am incredibly passionate about education as I was so luckily enriched with such an inspiring education. I only wish to share the beauty of this with my students and am incredibly passionate about tutoring, as education is so important.
My Experience:

I will be able to create a class curriculum around your child’s specific focus areas for a specific schooling period (assessments, exam periods or entrance exams) or general skill set. Give my extensive arts background, I am incredibly passionate about sharing my love of creative writing and classic literature with my students, especially given some semesters’ focus on themes and core texts.
My chosen methodology:
- Inquiry-based learning
- Differentiated instruction
- Project-based learning
A typical lesson plan:
I like to start by assessing what the student is both working on and wanting to focus on within that work - be that a focus area such as creative writing, prep for assessment/exam periods and/or an overall improve in their grade. I then take into consideration any challenges and/or learning difficulties that may be present (if SEN).
From here, I work with the student on their material (homework, repeats of schoolwork, practice assessments and/or external schooling books), guiding them whilst honing in on what they want to improve upon. I am relatively flexible and am happy to work on multiple focus areas to ensure productivity, as well as keep a students' interest in the subject! Creativity, empathy and variety is what I value highly in a lesson. The beauty of teaching is to see both progression in a students' skillset and passion for their subject!
