About Josephine
I’m an English graduate with a 2:1 BA in English from Queen Mary University of London (Russell Group) and A grades in A-Level English and GCSE English Language & Literature. I have experience supporting friends and family with GCSE and A-Level English, particularly essay writing and analysis.
I’m patient, approachable, and well-organised, and I aim to create a calm, supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable and confident. I genuinely enjoy helping students understand English more clearly and reach their academic goals.

My lessons are clear, structured, and results-focused, designed to help students feel confident and improve quickly. I tailor each session to the student’s level and goals, with a strong focus on essay writing, analysis, grammar, and exam technique.
Lessons are usually 60 minutes and include clear explanations, guided practice using exam-style questions or texts, and practical feedback students can apply straight away.
I hold a 2:1 BA in English from Queen Mary University of London (Russell Group), with A grades in A-Level English and GCSE English Language & Literature*, and have experience tutoring friends and family at GCSE and A-Level.
My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and straightforward, helping students understand what examiners are looking for and how to achieve higher marks.
Lessons are suitable for GCSE and A-Level students, as well as older students who want to strengthen their academic writing skills.
