About Luci
I graduated with a degree in English specialising in Creative Writing and English Literature from the University of Sunderland. I have a huge passion for teaching, and I've always wanted to help kids that are struggling with their academic endeavours. I'm a really friendly person whose personality is rooted in helping others achieve their goal. When I was in school, I was lacking in confidence within myself, and I always struggled to do work to the best of my potential. Until a teacher offered to help bring me out of my shell. Which is when I realised just how much better I was coping with the work that I was being given. When I felt confident within myself, I felt my work was of a higher standard.
Personally, I believe this is what teaching is all about, yes, the content is important, but ultimately building confidence and self-belief is where it is all at. If a child can believe in themselves. They're going to believe in the work that they are putting out in the classroom. The saying teamwork makes the dream work gets thrown around quite often, but that’s only because it's true. By working together as a team, we are helping each other gain experience, that will last a lifetime. I'm hoping that we can work together to help your children gain the confidence, they not only deserve but need to achieve their best possible grades.

My lessons can operate based on what areas need further improvement. We can do anything from SATS prep to GCSE prep, to helping with any English Assignments if you are in University. We can also do an all-rounder to cover multiple things in one session If we focus on school work. When revising for SATS and GCSE, I will provide all content. For example, practice papers will either be printed off and brought to the sessions; if sessions occur online, I will send them in an email attached as PDF documents.
Parents and children will have the resources to constantly communicate with me if needed, As I take this very seriously. So I will give parents a phone number and email address after their first session if they are happy to book again.
Every child learns differently, and to make it easier, to cater to them, I will adapt my lesson plans so that they feel comfortable with how they are learning and inevitably get the best outcome from the sessions we have together.
I'm currently working for the Uk's biggest tutoring company, so I know and have experience working with children in an academic environment. I'm also entirely DBS cleared to work with children.
I'm currently doing 1:1's in my free time, either in person, if you live in my area or online if you prefer. I tutor the ages of 4 to 14 in both Maths and English.
