About Ethan
My name is Ethan, a student at Lancaster University who is interested in teaching History. I have a passion for the subject, but I understand not everyone feels this way. I will make it my job to help you, not only to perform well in History, but to gain some enjoyment from the subject as well and learn skills you can carry with you into meaningful employment.
I am someone who has specialised in History for the best part of seven years, and someone who has a wide understanding of the subject. I feel there are very few tutors who will combine a passion for the subject with an understanding of why everyone might not like it to start with. My job is to help you find your strengths and weaknesses in History and become aware of them, and work to make them better.

After recently finishing my studies and moving on to study Law at Lancaster, I believe that I know a lot about the best ways to study English and History. I often find the biggest struggle I would face is my teachers not understanding the students and teaching in ways that directly benefit them. Continuing my studies onto A Level where I also studied English Literature, English Language and History where I achieved grades that took me to a place at one of the UK’s top 10 Universities. My teaching style is designed in a way that younger and older students can understand and take in, adapting to each individual student to get the most out of them and achieve the highest grades possible. In my own GCSE’s I managed to get 9’s in both English exams and History exams, and would look to help any prospective students achieve the same. I would directly create a plan based on each individual students struggle areas and have my plan inline with their current curriculum, keeping up with their in school work to help supplement it. Whatever the struggle may be from the basics to the fine details, or even just a regular tutor to keep them ahead of the game, I would be able to give 1 to 1 attention on their particular worries

In my last year of GCSE I really was struggling with English in particular, but I really wanted to take it for A Level, so my Mum got me Ethan as a tutor. He helped me raise my 3 in English to a 8 by exam times, with it being a 7 in English Language and a wonderful 9 in English Lit. Ethan created 1 on 1 unique lesson plans based on my work and my exams which he then helped me to understand everything I wasn't. Ethan is such a good tutor and really helped me achieve my dreams of studying English at A Level which I am doing now, and getting great grades in thanks to the basis that Ethan laid out for me.
Ethan helped tutor me last year in English and History for my GCSE exams, we would have 2 lessons a week and in Year 10 i was getting 4s and 5s but in my final exams in June I managed to get two 8s in my GCSE's which is a lot more than what my teachers predicted for me. Ethan is patient and he takes his time to run through everything that I struggled with, he also based our lessons on what I was missing and what I was struggling with as well as supplementing my in school curiculum. Ethan is one of the better tutors that I have had as he actually helped me get my grades up and I highly reccomend for any students who are struggling or just want to get better in general
