About Tessa

Back in 2015, after graduating from the University of St Andrews with a Languages degree, I found myself at a crossroads- what to do next? Then I remembered my year as a teaching assistant in Lugo, Spain. It was one of the happiest times of my life, teaching (and assisting in teaching) English. Perhaps this was the way to go. So, I got my CELTA and immediately headed back to Spain - this time Girona, on the opposite side of the country. There I spent three blissful years building up my experience with teaching kids and with exam training before heading to the Netherlands with my now-husband, where my experience grew even wider-ranging - English in the office, technical English, scientific English and financial English. Now, I am back in Scotland. I have also begun tutoring in Spanish. My goal is to put students at ease, build their confidence and, once they are happy and comfortable, the knowledge they need will come.

- Practitioner of 'flipped classroom' methodology - grammar and vocabulary exercises (or past papers) are given to students ahead of time and we review and activate in class -Highly conversation and speaking-based -Bespoke: can adapt to student's wants and needs - Lesson lengths: 1-2 hrs -CELTA-qualified, Master's degree in Literature and Education (University of Amsterdam, 2019) - All levels, mainly expat adults looking to improve their English

Perfect! My experience with Tessa was very good.
I had an hour free session to start with and she can already pinpoint the flaws that I have to work on.
Then when we meet up for a two hours session, she tries her very best to address the things that I have to improve more. Thus, it gives me confidence and a boost.
There are so many traits that she carried that you don't have to think twice to book her to be your tutor.
Her professionalism was second to none. Her proficiency and explanation in the way that would uplift you was impeccable.
Her knowledge of her field was outstanding.
The way she delivered herself was comprehensible.
She will make you feel relaxed and comfortable.
My overall experience was excellent, I can't recommend her enough to friends, families and colleagues who need help to sharpen their English speaking and communication skills.
