About Spencer
My passion for English language and literature has shaped my career, leading me to earn an M.A. in English Literature and Applied Linguistics. Over 12 years, I have taught students of all ages and abilities, guiding them to improve fluency, comprehension, writing skills, and critical thinking. My experience spans tutoring school and university learners, professionals, and adults seeking practical or academic proficiency.
I employ a student-centered approach that prioritizes adaptability, engagement, and personalized guidance. Lessons combine grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, and conversational exercises, alongside critical analysis and literary discussion. I focus on fostering intellectual curiosity, creativity, and effective communication, supporting learners in developing strong language skills while enjoying the process.
Outside teaching, I engage with literature, contemporary media, and linguistic research to ensure lessons are current, relevant, and enriched with practical examples. Teaching English is incredibly rewarding because I witness learners transform from hesitant communicators into confident speakers and writers capable of expressing themselves clearly, creatively, and thoughtfully in multiple contexts.

English lessons are most impactful when learners strengthen reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills in a meaningful and engaging context. My lessons focus on grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure, comprehension, phonics, writing organization, and conversational fluency. I integrate interactive exercises, discussions, storytelling, and multimedia resources to enhance engagement and deepen understanding. Lessons emphasize confidence, clarity, and creativity, allowing students to express themselves effectively in both academic and everyday contexts while fostering intellectual curiosity and critical thinking skills.
Lessons are tailored to the student’s proficiency level and goals. Beginners work on foundational grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and simple conversations. Intermediate students enhance writing, reading comprehension, discussion skills, and more complex sentence construction. Advanced learners develop analytical writing, literary critique, advanced vocabulary, and persuasive or professional communication skills. Each session combines structured teaching with hands-on exercises, collaborative activities, and personalized feedback for consistent and meaningful progress.
English study also builds critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and self-expression. Students gain confidence in articulating ideas, interpreting complex texts, and participating in academic or real-life discourse with ease.
