About Kerry
Hi, I'm Kerry! I am a friendly, personable and patient person who enjoys working with students and being a part of their learning journey. The best part of my job is being there to watch as students grasp the skill that they have struggled with, overcoming the hurdles they have been facing. I have five years’ experience working as a tutor/nanny with students aged 5-18 on a one to one basis tackling areas of English Literature and Language that they struggle with. I have two years experience working in the classroom as a Secondary English Teacher with QTS. My role as leader of the classroom was to guide and excite learners helping them to develop academically and grow their confidence in their ability to achieve. Using the national curriculum to focus my lessons, I prepare lessons specifically designed to meet the needs of each learner.
My experience in the classroom has helped to better my craft and learn to adapt to all professional environments. I have developed communication skills that help me to be express myself clearly with colleagues, students, and others involved in the learning process such as parents and EAL/SEN support workers. I enjoy challenging myself and pushing for better results working to ensure that every child leaves my class/private lesson having understood the learning objective and able to advance to the next stage confidently.
