About Hannah
In September, I graduated from UCL with a Distinction in Modernist Literature. Since then, I have been working on my debut novel.
I am passionate about all things Literature - from studying poetry and plays to writing my own fiction. But I have always loved teaching; from a young age, I taught the violin, and at university I mentored younger students on how to write essays and prepare for university exams.
My favourite thing about English is that you can always find a point of interest somewhere. You might think you don't care about Hamlet, for example, but have you thought about how it's essentially a ghost story? The same goes for almost any fiction you might be studying at school. Is The Great Gatsby boring, or is there something in it that you find interesting - like how Fitzgerald describes the party scenes or the summer's heat?
But at the end of the day, studying is also a means to an end. What really matters is working out what the exam paper is asking for and nailing the question. I am here to help you do that.

I believe the key to learning is curiosity. I love connecting with students, working out what interests them and finding ways to weave that into my teaching. I create each lesson plan specifically for the student's needs - both academic and personal, and I will always do my utmost to ensure that the student feels relaxed and comfortable.
I have an MA in Modernist Literature from UCL (Distinction), and a BA in English Literature from Durham (First Class).
I am available to tutor GSCE and A Level English Literature. I can also help with Personal Statements for English Literature applicants.
