About Chloe
Hello!
My name is Chloe. I am from Canada, but I’m currently in Japan. I love stories. From Historical Literature to Contemporary Film to Postmodern Podcasts, I’m a fan.
I love stories so much that I pursued a degree in English Literature, focusing on plays, prose, and poetry. My favourite eras were Postmodern and Contemporary, but I have a fondness for Jacobean as well.
I’ve used my love of stories in my work as an Assistant Curator (Local Museum), Reporter (Meliorist and Freelance), Communications Officer (Canadian Federal Government), and Writer/Editor Intern (Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum)
I currently teach senior high school English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in Japan.
Stories connect, inform, persuade, and impassion us to see the world from a new point of view. Stories have started riots and ended wars.
In the modern world we are more inundated with content than ever before, so it is critically important that we understand what we are reading and how to say what we mean to say.
Let’s work together to find and nurture your natural strengths.

We see a lot of content in the world, but how much of it do we understand?
In my classes we will:
-set targets in line with what your personal goals are,
-identify your personal strengths and areas for improvement,
-read and dissect texts for meaning and test comprehension
-compose analytical academic text responses
My goal is to use interesting, dynamic literature, film, and other content to engage you in your academic pursuits. If you like science fiction, fantasy, mystery, or adventure, we will find something for you!
These lessons are appropriate for Middle School, High School, and Post Secondary students.
