About Noa
I’m a senior who is an English Literature major at Washington University in St. Louis with a concentration in Publishing and hands-on experience in the literary world. I’ve worked with organizations like the Jewish Publication Society and the literary agency Dystel, Goderich & Bourret, where I reviewed manuscripts, edited content, and strengthened my understanding of what makes writing clear, engaging, and impactful. Through my coursework, I’ve developed strong skills in crafting analytical essays that balance clarity, argument, and voice—experience I now bring into my tutoring. As a tutor, I bring that editorial experience to every session. I focus on helping students express their ideas with confidence, guiding them through the writing process—from structure and argument to tone and polish. My approach is supportive, collaborative, and designed to help each student develop lasting writing skills they can rely on.

My approach to tutoring centers on collaboration and clarity. I see writing as a process of discovery—figuring out not just what you want to say, but how to say it in a way that feels both precise and authentic. I start by helping students articulate their goals for each session, whether that’s refining an essay’s structure, strengthening analysis, or improving tone and flow. A typical lesson begins with a short conversation about where the student feels confident and where they’re struggling. We then work through a piece of writing together, identifying areas for revision and discussing why certain choices strengthen the argument or narrative. I often use examples from the student’s own writing to illustrate broader techniques, encouraging reflection rather than rote correction. What sets me apart is my background in both creative and academic writing, along with my experience in publishing. I’m attuned to voice, pacing, and clarity—and I emphasize the “why” behind each edit so students leave with skills they can apply independently. My lessons are best suited for middle school, high school, and university students, as well as anyone looking to develop stronger writing for essays, creative projects, or personal statements. Whether you’re drafting an analytical paper or crafting a reflective piece, I aim to make the process less intimidating and more rewarding.
