About Kate
I am a graduate of English Literature (Scottish MA) from The University of Edinburgh. Having carried a passion for Literature and Creative Writing from GCSE's through to a 4-year degree, I endeavour to tutor those in need of encouragement and hope to foster that same passion in others. I also hold A-Levels (graded A) in History and Philosophy and am open to tutoring GCSE/A-Level students of these subjects.

My teaching method is informal and goes at the student’s own pace. My ethos is treating the student with respect and as an equal. During lessons, we will work through problems and questions together, as opposed to me talking at them as I don’t believe this is conducive with a pupil engaging and finding passion in a subject. I will research up on each topic required and provide the student with several exam style questions, which we can work through together as well as make several plans. I am happy to read through their work and mark any sample essays and give critical feedback.
