About Jennifer
I am a calm and caring mentor and teacher for 11-18 year old students. I became a teacher to carry out meaningful and rewarding work, and I love watching the difference I can make in my student's lives and confidence. I am passionate about poetry and have both published my own poetry and mentored students to develop their writing - one of my students won a national poetry competition. Outside of work I am a great lover of reading, travelling (when possible), cooking, and film.

I have taught Key Stage 3, GCSE and A-Level studies for five years in a secondary school in London. I place great importance on my students’ experiences and the ways they feel comfortable learning. I like to gain a solid understanding of what students already know and feel capable of before beginning any lessons. I then aim to break down challenges or next steps into small, understandable and manageable chunks so we can work through them together, step by step, and reflect on the progress that has been made.
