About Lucy
I would consider myself a determined and hard-working individual. Having attained A*AA in Religious Studies, English Literature and Physical Education at A level, I have since gone on to study English Literature and Philosophy at Edinburgh University. Additionally, I am fully DBS checked and have extensive childcare experience, including being a gap student at Sherborne Preparatory School (entailing boarding assistance, special needs assistance and personal tutoring), sports coach and manager at a children's holiday camp and regular babysitter. I absolutely love working with children, and would say that I am positive and enthusiastic, offering a space in which they feel comfortable and relaxed.

I offer an enthusiastic and insightful approach to English Literature, aiming to make my sessions as enjoyable as possible. I would begin by going through the topic with the student and pin-pointing the areas of difficulty. From there, I would gather the correct information on the topic and explain it thoroughly, continuing by assembling some practice questions that target those areas. Myself and the student would work through them together at whatever pace the student requires. Once I believe that the student has got a grasp of the questions, I would produce further examples that the student would tackle individually. As a tutor, I always make sure to finish the session with a summary of the material we have covered. The typical length of a session would be around 1 hour, however I would be more than happy to adapt the material to fit a shorter or longer session, depending on the requirements of the student.
