About Maya

I am an English Literature undergraduate student with a passion for English. I have up to date and relevant knowledge of both GCSE and A level specifications and would love to share my knowledge and help struggling students not only achieve excellent grades but also develop an enjoyment for the subject during my lessons as it is much easier to excel in something you find interesting!

I helped my last student progress from a grade 5 at the start of year ten to achieving an 8 in his GCSE this year and would love to do the same for others.

Teaching others is my biggest passion so I would be fully committed to fully preparing students for their exams and futures!

About the lesson

My lessons will be primarily aimed at struggling GCSE and A level students looking to improve their exam grades in English Lit.

The lessons are one hour long and online so I am flexible with days and timings.

I have previous recent experience of tutoring a GCSE student who received an 8 in their GCSE this year. I also have recently done my GCSEs (2019) and A levels (2021) so have up to date knowledge of specifications and what examiners are looking for.

I will ensure I have a thorough knowledge of each student's specification, areas of weakness and exam dates so I can create individual lesson plans to help them achieve their target grade and personal aims in the subject.

I may ask students to either complete a past paper or send a recently completed one at the start of our sessions so I can fully understand their ability.

Communication is really important to me so I will ensure the student completely understands all areas before we move on and feels comfortable expressing any concerns or difficulties they are having in the subject with me. I am passionate towards teaching and sharing my knowledge with others so I look forward to helping any struggling English student I can!
