About Geo
South Korean nationality, born and raised in the depths of Surrey. Before deciding to tutor in this rather niche area, I have informally provided guidance on accent reduction, 'posh' English pronunciation and enunciation, and culture/etiquette notes. My friends like to push fun of my 'posh' accent but I can't help that it's just the way I've learned to speak from everyone around me growing up!
영국 내에서도 알아주는 포쉬 지역에서 나고 자란 덕에 자연스럽게 영국 '상류층' 문화를 습득했어요. 부끄럽지만 명문대로 순위에 올라가는 King's College London에서 학/석사를 공부 하면서 이 문화에 누구보다도 빠삭합니다. 보통 카페나 직장에서 마주치지 않는, 저희가 흔히 영드에서 듣는 '포쉬' 발음으로 영어를 하는 덕분에 발음이 멋있다고 칭찬도 많이 받았답니당~~ (자랑 맞습니다 쑥쓰;)

I am super flexible and can absolutely adapt to your learning methods! When learning things like this that can't be categorised by a curriculum, I think flexibility is the best approach. 정답은 없지만 많은 분들이 좋아하시는 수업 방식은 롤플이더라구요~ 수업마다 몇가지의 짤막한 상황들이나 길게 한 상황을 애드립 수준으로 능숙하게 포쉬 발음, 문장구현과 매너로 이어나가시는 연습을 선호하시더라구요! 카페/식당에서 주문하기, 펍에서 옆 사람과 스몰톡 나누기 등 다양한 실제 상황들을 연습하면서 금방 자연스러워지는걸 느끼실거에요!
There is no right answer when it comes to how you want to structure your session. I am flexible to try various methods but have found that a lot of people prefer to 'act out' various situations. These can be a few short situations or longer ones depending on how comfortable you feel. I think practicing these situations can be really helpful to take a holistic approach, practicing your pronunciation, enunciation and British cultural norms/etiquette all at once. Plus (personally) I think it's much more fun and good at giving you real-life practice!

I had the pleasure of learning Korean from Geo and really can’t recommend her enough! She is patient and engaging and I felt every lesson to be genuinely engaging and enjoyable.
She has a well-structured teaching style but adapts it as needed to fit your learning pace and goals. Her fluency means you develop a really natural and conversational ability but she’s also able to drill down on the more technical aspects if you’re preparing for something more official like the TOPIK exam. There were some really challenging concepts that she explained clearly, and I always felt encouraged to practice speaking even if I was making a lot of mistakes.
She’s so kind and supportive and created an environment where I felt really motivated to challenge myself. I really recommend her if you’re looking for a tutor!View more recommendations
