About Bethany
After four and a half years pursuing my undergraduate degree, I have graduated this December with my Bachelor of Arts in English. I intend to pursue a master's degree beginning this year, followed by a PhD, with the final goal of becoming a tenured professor.
Throughout my college career, I have engaged in regular conversation with professors and students regarding English and foreign language, as well as critiquing various works of peers and other authors.
I have also spent the past two years as a counselor at a YMCA, regularly teaching various lessons about STEM, arts, and other subjects to elementary aged children.

I teach by using comparisons. If someone is grappling with a subject, I find something that they already understand to compare the subject to. I begin with the simplest, most general version of what the student is trying to learn, and then help build their knowledge with more specific examples as they become secure in the basic principles. I am very patient with my students and their learning!
