About Ethan
Ultimately I want to teach because whilst you may not think so now, everybody can find a love for English and being the person to bring that love for the subject out is massively rewarding for me.
I believe that once a good relationship with the subject is established academic success comes so much easier and seeing a student succeed is perhaps even more rewarding than seeing them discover the love for English.

-Top class qualifications in English Literature and Language at A level
-An avid reader...obviously!

The methods by which I teach do not just seek to ensure a student scrapes a pass in an exam. My tutoring seeks to raise a students understanding of the subject through healthy discourse and engaging, conversational teaching. I've seen that through this type of teaching a student not only passes an exam but excels through academia with flying colours.
An example of a lesson structure for an English literature student:
-Begin with the student asking questions about their particular text or something they've been particularly struggling with.
-We'll then move on to discussion of the text and analysis
-I'll then seek to find how the student has connected with the text and if they haven't yet, find a connection!
-Finally we'll tackle one exam question together and then I'll leave the student with one to take away and do on their own.
