About Melisa
I am a teacher who understands the importance of tailoring lessons to meet the individual needs and interests of each student. My teaching philosophy balances making subjects enjoyable with maintaining a structured learning environment. I incorporate interactive materials for writing, and engaging visuals, to enhance the learning experience. My aim is to help students build a solid foundation in their learning while fostering their natural curiosity. I am confident that my approach will offer a valuable learning experience. I also strive to keep my lessons enjoyable, engaging and intellectually stimulating, ensuring that the learning process is both fulfilling and productive.

I have 9 years' experience working in the British curriculum. I have predominantly been a Key Stage 2 teacher and for 2 years I acted as an Upper Key Stage 2 lead. I therefore have a very strong understanding of what is required to not only be expected but also exceeding for a student, so would be able to extend learning. I have also been a private tutor now for 3 years and have taught primary and secondary students. I have helped students in their 11+ exams with success in many schools such as Alleyn's, Woldingham, Francis Holland, Streatham and Clapham, and Emmanuel. In addition to this, I also teach for GCSE exams and have an average increase in 2 grades. I am a kind and patient tutor who adapts to the needs of the learner. The typical length of a lesson is 1 hour but this is flexible.
