About Kerstin

I love to learn, and I also love helping individuals to understand topics that they may not know they are capable of understanding. Figuring out how a person learns best is one of my favorite puzzles to solve, and I never give up. I take education very seriously and in my own learning, I never stop being curious. I have a bachelor's degree in English literature and secondary education (3.8 GPA). I have a master's degree in English Literature (4.0 GPA). I have certification to teach Social Studies (4.0 GPA) and English as a Second Language (4.0 GPA). When I commit to tasks, I always give my very best. For example, during COVID, when many were struggling with education, I put in extra time with my students via Google Meet and all but one of them passed their AP exam.

About the lesson

I always individualize my lessons to the needs of the students in front of me. My lessons would start by getting to know you and your needs and to provide specific feedback about how I can help so that you know who you are hiring. I believe in first teaching the vocabulary needed to understand and access a topic, creating practice, and modeling how to achieve mastery. The final step would be to provide specific feedback about how you are improving, any gaps that we can continue to fill, and ways to achieve more success. Much of reading and writing mastery comes with practice and pattern recognition, so I will also give you tips and formulas for how to identify and practice these patterns.
