About Charles
Warm Greetings! My name is Charles Albanese. I am from the USA. I am very honored and excited about teaching English to my students.
1. I am a very hardworking, reliable, and enthusiastic professional teacher, dedicated to making a positive contribution through a commitment to the highest level of teaching and instruction, with the capacity to meet the students’ needs through a student-centric vision and student-oriented approach.
2. My educational background for teaching ESL includes the following:
I have a CELTA Certificate Qualification from Teaching House, accredited by Cambridge University, as of June 2024.
I also have a 120 Hour Accredited, Advanced TEFL Certificate from Premier TEFL, as of Feb 2022.
In addition, I have an MBA in International Business Management from Thunderbird, School of Global Management in Arizona in the USA; and, I have a BA in Economics from Rutgers University in New Jersey in the USA.
3. My work experience related to teaching ESL includes the following:
- I worked for United Cerebral Palsy of New York City for 5 years, where I taught special education classes in literacy, creative writing, poetry, mathematics, GED high school equivalency test preparation, and job readiness.
Additionally, I trained at the Princeton Center for Teacher Education in Princeton, New Jersey, and worked as a teacher at The Albrook School in New Jersey for 6 months- where the instruction of the students included assessing the needs of and monitoring the progress of each student; and working with the parents and school administration to inspire the students to reach their full potential.
- Moreover, I worked as a Park Ranger in New York City, where I taught for 5 years about environmental protection and preservation; and about the natural, historical, cultural, and human resources of the parks.
- Furthermore, I have taught for 15 more years in various other capacities while working in the computer industry, the disabilities field, and as an office manager.
4. In addition to being fluent in English, my language skills include having studied Italian in high school for 3 years and for 1 semester in college.
I also studied Mandarin Chinese in graduate school for 2 years, and at Shanghai Normal University in Shanghai, People’s Republic of China for 3 months; and I also studied advanced business language at the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing, where I received three graduate school credits.
5. I am enthusiastic about helping students regarding their English language goals; and I look forward to working with them and making their English language learning a most beneficial, productive, and amazing experience.
