About Geraldine
I have been an academic working with students for over 20 years and have helped over 2000 university level students to achieve their degrees! My students have gone on to jobs in all kinds of fields around the world but many have moved onto further study, academic or research work. Children and young people I have taught have been able to more easily move onto University life later because of enhanced English language skills. I am an experienced English teacher who can help you achieve your potential in speaking and writing in English. I offer online lessons to enable you to not only speak English but master the accent and clarity of the native English speaker. I have 20 experience in UK universities, helping students who are not native English speakers to develop their skills. Let me help you in your language journey through my expertise and knowledge. I am able to help in the following situations:
- help with learning vocabulary and conversational English
- Academic English for other purposes, e.g. business or medical
- Grammar, writing, spelling and written English skills
- Pronunciation, speaking and accent
- Adults, children and teenagers at all stages of the English language learning journey
- Helpful other support, such as editing and proof reading materials, CV and resume support
- Specialist support for overseas students studying at higher levels, e.g. Masters and Doctorates or wishing to study at an English speaking institution.
My techniques and methods of instruction vary in relation to a. your level of English ability and, b. your goals and aims for language learning. We will work together in the initial free session to decide what you need from lessons, your aims and how to achieve these. I will then create a bespoke (individual) lesson plan. At any point we can alter this, should it be that you decide you need to change your goals or perhaps decide to take a particular examination etc.
As a tutor I am friendly, understanding and supportive. I know what it is like to learn another language and struggle to find a supportive teacher. My role is to help you to achieve, why not contact me to see how I can help you with your English language goals?
