About Andie
I teach college level English classes and have done so for several years on the side, so I know what kind of writing skills students will need to be college-ready.
I graduated from a prestigious liberal arts college and then pursued my masters in creative writing. The entire time, I was focused on giving back to my community and uplifting marginalized students (low income, queer/trans, BIPOC youth) like myself in my career in education.

I'm interested in teaching big scale strategies: paragraph formation, topic sentences, differentiating analysis from summary. Then, we can write about what students are actually interested in writing about. I can help students prepare for standardized tests like the SAT, ACT, GED, or I can tailor lessons to class assignments.
My focus is compassionate listening, working with individual student needs and interests, and building skills that can be applied to a variety of subjects.
I also have experience teaching creative writing if students are interested!
