About Ruchira
I am a student at the University of Warwick and I am studying Politics, Philosophy and Economics. Choosing an area of study that cultivated critical thinking was important to me and I found that this degree offered that to me.
I mainly chose critical subjects for my A-Levels (English, Economics, Maths and Philosophy) and achieved A*A*A.
I believe that teaching should aim to teach the student how to learn as opposed to only what to learn. By using dialogue as my main point of lessons, I aim to teach how to analyse, evaluate and discuss so that tutees become better at doing this without me, on their own.
I also understand the frustration and dislike you can feel when you don't understand a subject. However I also know that it only takes a push to start enjoying the subject and performing better and I hope to be that push.

Hi! My name is Ruchira. I believe, especially with English, students perform exponentially better when they enjoy the subject. English has always been my favourite subject and because of my affinity for the subject, I make sure to make my lessons as enjoyable as possible.
By using the resources I made that led me to achieve double 9s at GCSE level and A* at A-Level, I will bypass your need to spend long amounts of time figuring out what to focus on.
My existing lesson structures include: Analysing texts and poetry, essay writing and improving structural and language techniques. However, I plan my lessons according to the needs of the student.
I have worked as an assistant tutor a large tutoring firm and I will be able to use my experience. In addition, I have been privately tutoring students in Year 8,9 and 10 for the past year.
