About Marc
I am Marc Shoemaker. I have taught middle school and high school English as well as college English and education classes. I earned a doctorate in 2020 from Marshall University, where I also served as a teaching graduate assistant. I enjoy reading and writing books with a supernatural bent.
I believe students can become better writers if the focus is on the ideas they want to convey and their personal interests.

I enjoy teaching writing as well as reading, and believe lessons should start with students' individual interests. Grammar, structure, and approach should come as a natural part of the reading or writing rather than as an add-on. Instruction should begin where the student is, both in terms of ability and interest.
