About Rosie
I am a francophone Métis/Cree woman; My passion for linguistics has led me on a journey over the years of studying and learning French, Spanish and Aboriginal languages and culture. Presently, I am studying Cree. As an Entrepreneur now, I have been active in fostering relationships with people all over Canada by virtue of bilingualism.
I have tutored privately in the past for students in British Columbia, of both the francophone and french immersion programs. I completed my primary and secondary studies in Penticton B.C.; through the Conseil scolaire francophone de la C.-B. My academic background also includes a diploma in Network Systems Management through CDI College, of Calgary. I have had great accomplishments and experiences in positions as a French/Spanish Network Analyst as well as a French remote computer technician. I feel though IT has been a fruitful career, I am looking to shift to a more meaningful career-path which allows me to enrich and serve my local francophone community.

My intention will always be to make the learning stimulating, and will tailor the structure of my lessons on the child's present abilities and focus on setting S.M.A.R.T goals to improve in areas of weakness. I will format the class to warm-up activities such as practicing their conversational skills, pronunciation and spoken-word, then move through some spelling/grammar and/or conjugation exercises. Then ideally, review the student homework if they have a specific assignment they are working on that they are struggling with and provide support as needed. I will work with the student to develop a study pattern that is advantageous long-term. Based on the principles of the 4 major learning styles: Visual, Auditory, Reading/Writing, and Kinesthetic. Many students use a combination of each, but usually have one style that works best for them.
I have full understanding of all the latest tech that teachers, students and parents are using throughout Alberta and can assist in the transition from offline-to-online that many families are adapting to during these times. I can support your child remotely, via video conference and share my screen so that they are able to work closely with me during our time together. We can accelerate their learning and help improve their grades using fun, tech-inspired, tools.
