About Olivia
My name is Olivia, I studied Biomedical Sciences at King's College London and graduated in 2022. I spent time throughout my degree tutoring students aged 7-16 through maths and sciences. Prior to that I mentored students from the John Wallis Academy in Kent to achieve the GCSE grades they aspired, and worked in a primary school as well as after school clubs. I know each student likes to work differently and make every effort to make the lessons fun for each student - however that may be.
I am energetic and enjoy transforming topics which can seem really dull and difficult into understandable and interesting subject matter. I know when I was at school, learning was more fun when you are able to see the big picture of where everything fits in - so I do my best to talk about real life examples and engage students in how this learning can be exciting!

I offer 60-120 minute lessons in KS3/GCSE Maths, Biology and Chemistry which take an interactive discussion based approach. I make the work exciting and fun through the use of different mediums such as short videos, quick fire games, discussion and question time.
I believe it is vital the students understand the concepts completely and this is best done not through reading text books and reciting, but reading, discussing, understanding. Always asking questions and creating notes which cater to their learning style. I can provide the best lessons when given specific topics in advance to prepare for.
I have experience teaching KS3 and GCSE. I have tutored my younger siblings as well as external clients from ages 7-16. Having had tutoring myself when I was younger, I also understand from the students perspective what makes a lesson enjoyable and engaging.
