About Erica
I am extremely passionate about French and the French culture and I love sharing this passion with others. I have taught French to elementary school, high school, and college students and also to adults who are just wishing to learn the language for fun or to achieve personal goals. I have tutored over 800 hours of private one-on-one lessons and also have experience teaching in a classroom setting (most recently as a French lecturer at Sonoma State University). My teaching methods depend largely on your needs and what you are looking to learn. Emphasis can be put on grammar, conversation, pronunciation, or even cultural knowledge. I received my Bachelor's in French and Global Studies (European Concentration) from Sonoma State University in 2013. While an undergraduate student, I studied abroad for a period of 11 months in Paris, France where I attended Nanterre Université. I then earned my Master's in French from San Francisco State University in December 2016. As a graduate student, I studied abroad in Paris, France for a period of 7 months at the Sorbonne (Paris IV).
