About Toby
I am a highly motivated university student studying mathematics and am looking to help fellow students with their grades and general understanding of mathematics. I have always struggled with mathematics, and a tutor had helped me gain invaluable knowledge, tips on how to solve exam questions, and much more. I am looking to help those who either struggle with mathematics (as I understand how difficult this subject is) and want to pass or get a good grade, or to help those who have a genuine passion for mathematics and want to learn a deeper level of mathematics. I am always available to answer questions for students, whether it is from curiosity (maths related) or helping with an exam question.

A level Mathematics, Further maths, GCSE maths, Programming, Python, Java, Web Dev (HTML etc), C#. Lessons range from 1-2 hours with additional notes (written by myself for the student) to help assist with the student when I am unavailable. I can do in person or remote, depending on location and time. I am also always available to contact should the student have a question. I am a highly motivated mathematics student looking to teach others the joy of mathematics, and to help assist students in bumping up their grades. I have a CertHE in mathematics from Heriot-Watt University, A level mathematics and am currently a UG student at Queen Mary's University of London for mathematics, with a keen interest in cryptography and programming (first year). Before the lesson the, if the student is aware or parent, should make me aware of what they need help with (trigonometry, integrals, matrices, etc) so that I may prepare content to go through. We would first go through questions so that I may see the level of the student and any weak areas. Working on the weak areas, we would take time to really iron out any misunderstandings or gaps of knowledge, working on building a strong foundation. From this, the student should feel much more confident in that specific area of mathematics. Upon leaving the lesson I would write concluding notes on the lesson and area of mathematics for the student, which the student should read (is a brief read unless requested otherwise). I would also write additional practise questions for the student to complete before the following lesson. This method ensures a deep understanding of mathematics and is sure to help with grades, whilst inspiring one to learn more! The notes would come in the form of a PDF, Word document or a notion form, whichever suits the student best.
