GCSE & A-Level Science Tutor
Hello!
I am an Imperial College London graduate of Biology with an enthusiasm to enable everyone to understand and love science. With plenty of experience in one-on-one tutoring and a first class degree from one of the top universities for science, I am well-equipped and passionate about my subject.
I didn't particularly enjoy Science or Maths when I was 15/16, but I realised it wasn't the subjects themselves that were dull, but rather the way they were taught. I want to bring the wonder and enjoyment into these intensely examined academic subjects!
My teaching style varies from person-to-person, but I always allow students to solve their own problems by providing 'scaffolding' that helps them to reach the correct answer. This way, the learning is sustainable and gives them the tools they need to then solve the problems independently.
I am happy to tutor any subject up to the end of KS3, Science, Maths, Statistics and Music GCSEs, and Biology and Music A Levels.
More about me - I finished secondary school in 2012 with 9 A*s (4 of them being Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Maths) and 2 As along with grade 8 in violin. I then completed my A Levels with A*s in Biology and Maths and an A in Music, shortly followed by a diploma in violin performance. I then took a gap year, during which I spent much of my time teaching violin and music privately. I began my degree at Imperial College in 2015, studying Biology BSc, which included a great deal of chemistry, physics and maths. During my degree I continued to teach music privately in London. Having graduated with a 1st last year (2018), I am now interning in London before I continue my academic studies this coming September, reading Immunology MSc at Imperial College.
My internship this year involves in-depth training on effective communication and leadership, both of which are immensely helpful in tutoring.
