About Maria
I am a 19 year old bachelor student at Maastricht University where I study in the field of natural sciences. I have been interested in sciences ever since I can remember, but I have not always been good at them. That was until I found a teacher, who showed me that Mathematics does not have to be scary and intimidating - you just have to have the right tools and the right person who can help you - I hope I can be that person for you.[ N]I have a lot of experience tutoring my peers. Teachers very often fail to provide students with good explanations, simply because they do not remember anymore what it is like to be a student. We don't need big words and rigid definitions. Instead, we need someone who can explain a topic using words we understand, using examples we know.
As a student myself who sees the things my peers struggle with, I know what students need to understand a topic. Teaching gives me joy and satisfaction and I love helping people grasp subjects they never thought they would understand.

As a university student, I know very well what topics cause problems and confusion among students. Complicated concepts, difficult terms and big words - I believe the key to succeeding in natural sciences and actually understanding the topic comes down to simplifications. I teach the way my mom used to teach me when I was younger - using simple analogies and real-life examples - all to make the topic more approachable and less intimidating. They say that you know that you have understood a topic once you are able to explain it to someone who knows nothing about it. This is exactly my goal. At the end of our sessions, I want my students to have a deep understanding of the topic discussed, so that they are ready to discuss a topic with their peers and ace those exams.
I offer 1-hour long lessons, both during the week and the weekends, My targeted group is teens aged 12-18 - middle school to high school. I offer preparations for exams, help with taking notes and provide useful resources for further study if requested.

On top, virtual tutoring is making it easier to organise. I really do recommend !I've been having Chemistry lessons with Maria for two months now, and I am very pleased. She is always very well-prepared for the lessons and always succeeds to explain every topic. She is also very patient, enthusiastic and puts a lot of effort into all the explanations.
