About Mary
I earned a Bachelor of Science from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, NY, graduating with a 3.6 GPA. In fact, my diploma states that I graduated from both SUNY ESF and Syracuse University, as my Environmental Studies (with a minor in Communications) degree required passing numerous courses on the SU campus. After marriage and raising my daughter, Penelope, I decided to go back to school for a second degree in Horticulture from SUNY NCCC. I’ve been a teacher’s aid and led numerous nature day camps for kids.

I LOVE teaching and learning everything I can, especially anything science related (specifically regarding the natural world around us). I received an A in biology, anatomy, dendrology, and botony.
When I teach kids, or anyone for that matter, I don’t assume that they know all the basics. That is something that always rubbed me the wrong way when observing other teachers. I explain things clearly and in a fun way because I am so passionate about science and learning anyhow- the enthusiasm just flows out of me! My mothers been a science teacher for 40 plus years. Perhaps it runs in the family! Let’s get this new generation interested in science. You guys can save the planet and heal not just the Earth but all the illness and hardships we face…starting with science.
