About Dyan
Dear Student,
It is a pleasure to introduce myself. I am a dedicated and passionate individual who strives to assist others in learning English as a second language and excelling in English literature. I have recently completed an M.A in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) at California State University, Los Angeles (Cal State LA).
As part of my professional preparation, I had the opportunity to teach students in the Credit ESL department at Glendale Community College. I also worked with international students, primarily from China, in the Credit ESL department at East Los Angeles College in Spring 2020. Currently, I am tutoring English at Glendale Community College and working with CATESOL as a Coordinator for a new LGBTQ+ Interest Group.

Dear Student,
As part of my tutoring preparation, I had the opportunity to teach students in the Credit ESL department at Glendale Community College. I taught reading and vocabulary.
To do this, I use a variety of hands-on activities and teaching
strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. I maintain a positive and friendly relationship with my students, who are often immigrant students from countries like Armenia, Iran,
Russia, and Japan. I prepare and deliver student-centered lesson plans incorporating activities and authentic materials to cover writing and grammar topics and students’ interests.
