I prioritize individualized instruction to meet diverse needs of English learners. Drawing from a range of teaching methods, including communicative, task-based, and interactive techniques I make sure to engage my students every minute of each lesson.
My typical lesson starts with a warm-up activity or a conversation to activate prior knowledge and set the stage for learning. Following this, I introduce new vocabulary and language concepts. As the lesson progresses my students are engaged with reading and writing tasks that are scaffolded and aligned with their proficiency levels. I assess my students throughout the lesson and adjust instruction as needed. Homework assignments may be provided to reinforce learning.
