About Maria Carolina
My name is Maria Carolina Pomares, I am from Monteria, Colombia, and I have lived in the US for a total of 5 years. I am an ESL teacher graduated from Universidad de Cordoba in Colombia. I decided to become an English teacher because I feel like it is a very gratifying career; I love sharing what I know with others and the feeling of helping them feel accomplished is awesome! I have been a teacher for the past 4 years; I worked at a high school in Colombia and taught teenagers from 8th and 9th grades. In addition, I worked as a freelance tutor and I did a fellowship at NYC's The New School where I taught adult students from all over the world. In my free time, I love to listen to podcasts, read, work out, and take naps whenever I can; sometimes I draw too.
