About Keira
I am a credential ESL/ELD/English Language Teacher. I have a lot of experience teaching young students and have the skills necessary to teach you or your child. I make my lessons fun and exciting for kids and interesting for adults. I have over 4 years experience teaching students at beginner, intermediate, and advanced English levels. I enjoy teaching reading and writing, and as an English-focused teacher I know what students struggling with both need to succeed. I look forward to meeting you and showing you what tools I would use to help your child improve!

My bachelor's degree is ESL Education K-12. My lesson structure include opening up the lesson with a warm-up, such as a question or discussion to help my students with their oral language, as well as to help them be comfortable. I include teaching grammar, reading, writing, vocabulary, and conservation in my lessons. If needed, I incorporate other content-areas such as math, social studies, or history, if the student needs help in that area. My personal view on teaching is that I am there to make the lesson interesting for the student and make learning goals to guide the student towards growth. I enjoy meeting students and learning their unique learning style, culture, and personality, and using those areas to influence my teaching.
