Are you looking to become more fluent in English, achieve a great exam score, or improve your career opportunities? I can help!

I’m a career ESL teacher with over ten years of professional experience helping students of all ages and nationalities improve their English and achieve their academic and professional goals. I hold a CELTA certification and have worked at top-tier language schools such as the British Council. I’ve taught both individual and group classes across all levels, and I’ve also trained as an IELTS Speaking examiner (although I’m not currently an active examiner). I’m very familiar with the format and requirements of the IELTS, Duolingo English Test, SAT & SSAT.

I’m reliable, communicative, and always well-prepared, with lessons and materials tailored to each student’s needs. I focus on practical, engaging instruction that helps you improve both during our lessons and independently. Whether your goal is better everyday English, academic success, or a higher test score, I’ll help you build the skills, strategies, and confidence to get there.

About the lesson

If you’re studying for the IELTS, we’ll prepare for all sections: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. We'll work on both your English proficiency and the specific skills and strategies needed for the test.

If you’re taking the Duolingo English Test, we’ll build the English skills and test strategies you need. We’ll cover writing, speaking, reading, listening, vocabulary, and grammar, following the current DET test format and question types.

For the SAT, we’ll improve your performance in reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, rhetorical skills, and following the patterns behind SAT questions. This could be the ticket to your dream university!

For the SSAT, we’ll strengthen your overall English, including reading, vocabulary, verbal reasoning, essay/creative writing and the test strategies you need for a high score.

If you want to improve Academic English, we’ll work on essay writing, academic reading, listening to lectures, grammar, vocabulary, presentations, and classroom communication.

If you want to get better at Business English, we'll look at phrases and vocabulary for writing cover letters, standing out in job interviews, offering suggestions and communicating with colleagues, giving presentations, and lots of other language and skills that will almost certainly be useful in the workplace.

Finally, if you just want to improve your English in general, or work specifically on grammar, vocabulary, reading, listening, writing or speaking, that's fine too. I’ll design lessons to meet your individual goals.

I’ll explain hard concepts clearly and give lots of guided practice. For test prep, I’ll also focus on patterns and strategies to approach unfamiliar questions and unknown vocabulary. I’ll never stop tracking your progress, so with every lesson we do, the more targeted future lessons will be. I’ll also recommend the most fun, useful and accessible ways to improve in your free time — not just when you’re studying with me.
