About Rob
I have 7 years of experience teaching college students while pursuing my graduate degree in Evolutionary Biology at the University of Michigan. I taught a wide range of courses, from Introductory Biology to upper-level pre-med genetics. I have also worked with high school students, teaching subjects from general biology through AP Biology. As a teacher, I focus on listening to my students’ personal goals and identifying where they may feel confused or stuck. My aim is to meet them where they are in their learning and guide them toward clarity. As a student myself - from elementary school through graduate school - I often struggled with challenging concepts. I know how frustrating it can be when a teacher who is an expert in the subject cannot see where students are having trouble. This experience helps me relate to my students and adapt my teaching style, making complex concepts more accessible by tailoring explanations to each student’s learning style. Some of the subjects I have taught include: High-school Biology, Evolution, Genetics, Microbiology, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Environmental Biology, Mycology, and AP Biology along with the associated laboratory classes.
