About Ella
I make English clear and easy to follow. I like to break things down so they actually make sense and focus on helping students feel confident in reading, writing, and analyzing texts. My lessons are organized and structured, so you know what we’re doing and can see real progress. I recently finished high school with strong results in NCEA English, so I know what’s expected and what it takes to do well. I’ve helped lots of students of different ages and levels, and I try to make lessons enjoyable while building skills in a way that’s manageable, not stressful. Whether you want to improve your understanding, get ready for assessments, or aim for Excellence, my goal is to help you feel confident, supported, and proud of your progress.

I like to keep my English tutoring relaxed, practical, and centred around helping students find their own voice as a writer. English isn’t just about ticking boxes for a rubric, it’s about understanding ideas, expressing yourself clearly, and feeling confident that you actually know what you’re talking about. I focus on helping students break down questions, build strong arguments, and write in a way that feels natural but still meets NCEA expectations.
Lessons usually run for 50–60 minutes, giving plenty of time to read, analyse, plan, and practise without feeling rushed. I start by figuring out what you’re struggling with, maybe it’s unfamiliar texts, essay structure, deeper meaning, or just getting started, and then we work through it together in a way that’s clear and manageable.
Having recently graduated from high school with strong results, I understand the standards, marking schedules, and exam expectations. I’ve helped lots of students with essays and exam preparation, and I love seeing someone realise that English isn’t as intimidating as it seems.
Lessons are aimed at Year 9–13 students, especially those preparing for NCEA English assessments who want to feel more confident in their writing, analysis, or exam technique.
